David Vance, winner of the grand prize of the PNGA's 2002
Chateau Elan Golf Challenge, recently returned from his trip
to St. Andrews Bay in Scotland, a Chateau Elan Resort. Vance
won the trip via random drawing last August. Vance and his
wife Toni won a five-day, four-night trip to the fabulous
resort and free round-trip airfare from Atlanta to Edinburgh.
Vance sent me the following note upon returning from the trip.
Scotland was absolutely
wonderful. My wife Toni loved it. The golf was wonderful and I was able to
play three days straight at St Andrews including the Old
Course.
I never had one drop of rainfall on me while on the golf course. The St. Andrews
Bay hotel was just great. They gave us a junior suite (fireplace and all),
which overlooked both golf courses and we could see the
town of St. Andrews off in
the distance.
The hotel was so nice and all of the staff was so friendly. I have the manager's
name and I plan to write him a very nice thank you note since everything was
so wonderful. Since my wife does not play golf, the hotel gave her two spa
treatments instead of free golf. Both courses (the Torrance and Devlin) at
the hotel were
great. The first day I played I was the first person off the tee. I was able
to take my time and enjoy the view. I took lots of pictures and one is so great
looking back towards St. Andrews over the bay that I made it my computer's
wallpaper.
I want to thank you and PNGA for the wonderful trip and I look forward to getting
out again real soon to one of your tournaments.
Again, thanks for the great trip.
Dave
